What does ACA accreditation mean?

The ACA, or American Camp Association, is a group of over 7,000 camp professionals who, since 1910, have been dedicated to ensuring excellence in camping.  The ACA does this through the ongoing education of camp professionals in the areas of operations, quality, health and safety; by establishing guidelines for important procedures and best practices; and by helping the public to find camps that meet and often exceed industry and government standards. ACA-accredited camps have to meet over 300 rigorous standards for health, safety and programming quality and are required to undergo regular independent audits in order to gain their accreditation.
